I bought this house in October 2020. It had been flipped, unfortunately, in a “lipstick on a pig” kind of way. The yard had sod laid on top of weeds to prepare it for sale, the wood fence was nearly falling down and the rest an unsightly chainlink, and to top it off – sickly plants!
There were, however, some things I loved: a wonderful home layout and lot size perfect for an ANNIEBAM garden to bloom in. The asphalt area nestled in the backyard has housed numerous shipments of plants ready to take root in client designs and, of course, my beloved summertime pool and hang out area.

After I focused on the inside of the house, I turned to the yard. I worked to solve similar problems I see with many clients – a falling down fence, screening from neighbors (especially from my elevated deck), creating a place to entertain, a space to grow veggies, and a spot for a hammock.

My planting beds are my test plots for plants and patterns. I love to design in patterns of color, plants, and curiosity. This is where I try out new and fun combos, semi hardy plants and, as happens with everyone who works in gardens – plants I need to find homes for. There is even a rain garden here! Can you find it? It is my spot to play with curiosity and admire all that nature gives us.

Enjoy!
